Nepal listed on ten coolest places to visit in 2015

Termed as trekking paradise
KATHMANDU, Nov 29: Nepal has been listed as the top ten coolest countries in the world to visit in 2015 by the famous Forbes magazine based in the US.

Nepal, a country with the most diverse topography with the highest peak in the world to tropical lowlands, is placed in the 9th position in ´The Ten Coolest Places to Visit in 2015´ in the magazine´s latest edition contributed by scribe Ann Abel.

Nepal has been termed as the trekking paradise. "Long beloved as a trekking paradise, Nepal is slowly emerging as a luxury destination," the write up states. "Absolute directs visitors to immerse themselves in Nepal´s astounding beauty and diverse artistic traditions, watch the sun light up the world as it rises over the Himalayas, stroll bucolic mountain valleys, visit ceramic and textile workshops, explore impressive temples and monasteries, and take a leisurely boat rise on Lake Phewa, whose calm waters mirror the snowy peaks that tower above," Abel delineates in the magazine.

Marvelous natural beauty of Nepal, diverse artistic tradition, high mountain range, hills, valleys, temples and monasteries there make the country an attractive destination for the visit, the magazine states.

Iceland, Morocco, Vietnam, America, Tasmania, Colombia, Japan, Argentina and the Sri Lanka are in the list of ten destinations. RSS

BURIAL RITUALS OF LO MANTHANG (MUSTANG IN NEPAL)

Hidden inside a narrow cave of just five feet high and six feet deep in the Lo Manthang (Mustang) region was a tomb which was formed by digging a shaft into the ground and then expanding it into a chamber. Located at Samdzong in Upper Mustang , the shaft tomb was just one among many of such mortuary caves veiled in the mystical kingdom. In 1987, when a tunnel was being built for a small-scale hydroelectric project in Chokhopani in Mustang, a burial cave was exposed by accident. The project in fact led to a distinct discovery of 2,000 to 3,000-year-old human corpses.
